Until we end the scourge of violence against women and girls (VAWG) none of us will be free.

I could never imagine that the girl who grew up on a council estate, with no formal education could run for public office. But I did. When I ran for Liverpool City Region (LCR) Mayor for the Women’s Equality Party in 2017, the LCR did not have a strategy to end VAWG. Fast forward to 2021 and because of my campaign, using the WEP approach of urging other parties to steal our policies, the LCR now DOES have this strategy. The elected Mayor asked me to write the strategy and I delivered a real win for our Party.

I now live in London with my girlfriend and can see first-hand we need this approach. So many lives are marred by violence, whether it’s gender-based or knife crime - violence is not inevitable! I will make sure we fund specialist services to help women and children rebuild their lives and stop the cycle of violence.

As we emerge from lockdown we need to build back equal, not invest in the old tired ideas that have proven to not create jobs or sustain a healthy economy. We will invest in a care-led economy, with affordable, quality childcare for all giving families real choices and creating 1000s of jobs across London. Care workers do vital work and are some of the lowest-paid we will ensure all care workers are paid the London Living wage as a minimum and care delivery partners invest in care as a professional career.

Now is our time to win a seat—we’re going to shake up London’s political establishment and I want to be part of the team that does that. Lend me your vote and donate to my campaign —I have the skills, capability and desire to help to transform London, change the lives of Londoners and represent YOU.
